Over the weekend the company I work for moved its headquarters just 2 short blocks down the road and a little closer to Starbucks. I am so excited to have my own office space. It is and open cubical but I have my own drawers and I have lots of desk space. Of which I promptly spread out all of my stuff. It is nice to have a space to call my own.
The new office is nice. There is the usual complaining from the veteran employees that they liked the old office better. That is to be expected, people really don't like change. I am happy though because I get my own little space. I can turn my back to the world and just work or I can join in the conversation with my team. Options is what it is all about options. Moving day was fun. I did not have much to pack or unpack so I was able to set up pretty quickly.
We started our move last thrusday when we packed everything up and then turned in our door keys for the old building. That meant we had to work from home which was different. I took the company laptop home, set up my wireless LAN finally and went to work.
